Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz, a subsidiary company of Gazprom, is undertaking the hydrocarbon exploration and prospecting project in Tajikistan in the country's oil-and-gas prospective fields.

The operator is carrying out geological exploration work in 4 of Gazprom's licensed areas: the Sarikamysh field (Shakhrinavsky district), the Sargazon field (Dangarinsky district) the Rengan field (Rudaki district), and the West Shohambari field (Gissarsky district).
The first seismic survey work carried out in Tajikistan is taking place with the help of advanced field technology 3D. The method in question is based on cubic (three-dimensional) exploration and enables a real map of the structure of the subsoil to be obtained in areas with complex geological conditions.

The seismic and geological conditions under which Gazprom is working in Tadjikistan have been assessed to be supersophisticated. The research objectives are located at a depth of up to 7 kilometres.

According to preliminary theoretical data, if a deposit is discovered, the expected gas resources in the 4 licensed fields being explored by the company could amount to a total of more than 80 billion cubic metres of natural gas. This enables Tadjikistan's domestic demands to be met in full and would lead the country out of fuel dependency. However, more accurate information concerning the reserves may be obtained, as only the specified fields have been explored in full.

The strategic aim of Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz is to facilitate Tajikistan's fuel and energy independence.

Впервые в Таджикистане сейсморазведочные работы ведутся с применением передовой  площадной технологии 3D. Данная методика основана на объемном (трехмерном) исследовании и позволяет получить реальную картину строения недр на самых сложных геологических участках. 

Сейсмогеологические условия, в которых работает «Газпром» в Таджикистане, оцениваются, как сверхсложные. Объекты исследования располагаются на глубине до 7 км.

По предварительным теоретическим данным, прогнозные ресурсы газа на 4 лицензионных площадях, исследуемых компанией, в случае обнаружения месторождений, могут составлять в совокупности свыше 80 млрд. м³ природного газа. Это позволит полностью обеспечить внутренние потребности Таджикистана и вывести страну из топливной зависимости. Однако более точную информацию о запасах можно будет получить, только полностью исследовав  данные площади.

Стратегическая цель компании «Газпром зарубежнефтегаз» - способствовать достижению Таджикистаном топливно-энергетической независимости.

Gazprom's subsidiary in prospecting and development of hydrocarbon deposits overseas, Gazprom International, signed two contracts on drilling exploitation wells with the Bangladesh corporation for oil, gas, and minerals, PetroBangla.

On behalf of Gazprom International, Senior Executive Vice President of Gazprom International, Yuri Skok, and on the behalf Bangladesh and in accordance with the country's legislation, Corporate Secretary of Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Ltd., Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Ltd. and Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd. (a subsidiary of PetroBangla) signed the contracts.
