18 February 2016Several bilateral documents on cooperation were executed during the visit of the Gazprom delegation to Tarija (Bolivia). Thus, the Strategic Cooperation Agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding on extending the use of liquefied natural gas (reflecting the intention to fulfil the projects of the use of natural gas for vehicles and local gasification) were signed with YPFB and the Department of Carbohydrates and Energy of Bolivia respectively. A trilateral Agreement between the YPFB, DoC&E and Gazprom International on updating the Gas Master Plan of Bolivia until 2040 has also been signed.

As the result, four gas condensate fields were discovered and assessed. The next step in the cooperation with Sonatrach will be to design development plans and feasibility studies for these fields.

The work has been carried out over the course of 23 months.

A daily flow of around 13,000 cubic metres of gas and up to 82 cubic metres of oil have been obtained from the well, which is located in the Berkin geological basin in the east of the Algerian part of the Sahara Desert. The overall depth of the well amounts to 5,310 metres.
